Most of these beautiful designs are done by batik, applying wax to the fabric to resist the dye. The wax is then removed revealing the design. All are made from fast drying, breathable rayon and our extra long sarongs measure approximately 82" x 46", not including the fringe. They wash easily by hand or machine. Hang to dry. Wash separately the first time or two.

About our Batiks from China:
These batik wall hangings are individually produced by some of China's pre-eminent batik artists from Yunan province. Each one is a work of art. We are proud to add these to our line of hand-made products. Batiks are produced by applying wax to the fabric in the areas that are to remain undyed. When the fabric is inserted into the dye, the dye takes to the unwaxed areas. Often a brittle wax is used which cracks during the dying process allowing the dye in, resulting in the characteristic thin lines.
These batiks can be a beautiful addition to any home!
