About Turtle Island Imports Sarongs:

Sarongs are worn in a variety of ways. Wrap as a skirt, top, headpiece, scarf or shawl. They are not only the perfect beach wrap but they make a great tablecloth, wall hanging or curtain. The sarongs (also known as Pareos) we bring you come from Bali. We travel there annually to pick out the finest ones to add to our selection. Most of these beautiful designs are done by batik, applying wax to the fabric to resist the dye. The wax is then removed revealing the design. All are made from fast drying, breathable rayon and measure approximately 66" x 46", not including the fringe. They wash easily by hand or machine. Hang to dry. Wash separately the first time or two.

These wool-rayon blend knitted slipper socks will keep your feet warm through all seasons. They are the traditional style worn by the people of the Hindu Kush mountains, simply knit slipper socks with a leather sole. Westerners like to wear them for their style as well as the warmth they provide. They are great for padding around the house.

Worry Dolls in a Box Guatemalan worry dolls in boxes make great, cheap stocking stuffers and party favors.

According to Guatemalan folklore these miniature dolls (about half an inch high) are given to children who tell them their worries before they go to sleep. They place the worry dolls under their pillow and in the morning the dolls have taken their worries away.

Handmade in Guatemala from wire and colorful, cotton thread. Small parts included.They are not suitable for children under three who may put things in their mouths, but older kids love them!

Includes six or so tiny handmade dolls in each oval box. Box is thin wood with handpainted designs. Comes with the legend printed on a slip of paper: "According to legend, Guatemalan children tell one worry to each doll when they go to bed at night and place the dolls under their pillow. In the morning the dolls have taken their worries away."

Small parts included: not suitable for unsupervised young children and infants.
